Approximate Cost: $45,000.00
Home Build Year: 1996
Description Of Work:
Signature Home Improvement did a complete remodel on our master bathroom. The first step was to completely demo and remove the existing toilet room, shower, whirlpool tub, lighting, wallpaper, carpet, cabinets and all plumbing. The size of the toilet room was then expanded 16 inches in length and a 32″ pocket door installed. The old toilet was replaced with a new 18″ version, new hardware installed and a knotty elder cabinet was placed above the toilet. The new shower was extended to include the are of the prior tub; a 48″ wall was built, tiled, covered with granite and then 36′ of glass extended toward the ceiling. The shower includes a bench and two separate theromstat controlled heads; one standard and one wand adjacent to the bench. Two large knotty elder vanities were installed and covered with granite; all new lighting installed; custom mirrors installed; existing floor covered with tile. Lostello accent tiles highlight the shower and door entry.

Signature did a superb job from start to finish. Prior to beginning the project they prepared, and subsequently adjusted, a number of CAD drawings until my wife and I were satisfied with the design. The company’s foreman personally assisted with the demo which was accomplished in one day. They used high speed fans to cut down on the dust, covered all of our furniture and floors with protective paper and plastic, and were very neat. Throughout the remodel, both the foreman and company management made at least weekly visits to our house to discuss status with us and make adjustments as necessary. All of their trades personnel….electirician, tile, plumbing, carpentry, painter, etc were first-class. Very professional and attention to detail oriented. They even volunteered to hang pictures for my wife when the remodel was complete. The contract estimated that they would be complete in 6-8 weeks; they were right on time. As prior military folks with very high standards and expectations, we are totally satisfied with every single aspect of this remodel. Signature Home Improvement is absolutely a customer-focused business that goes above and beyond to ensure your satisfaction every step of the project.

Jason was very professional and helpful and came to us with creative ideas to work within our budget. Jason and his team were always available to address questions and kept us informed about every step of the project. We had some problems along the way – a broken tile after install, mis-measurement of our shower glass, but they responded quickly and professionally and made sure everything was right as soon as possible.

Work Completed Date: September 14, 2009 Hire Again: Yes
Approximate Cost: $40,000.00
Description Of Work:
Jason and his team at Signature Home Improvement gutted and renovated my kitchen, including everything from structural work on doorways to fine cabinet details. Signature Home Improvement removed old cabinets and helped me set them out for Habitat for Humanity to reuse. They then laid a straight sub-floor for tiling, changed and updated electrical outlets and lighting, installed all-wood cabinets, installed granite counter-tops, laid tile for floor and backsplash, and painted from floor to ceiling.

They were able to complete the entire job in about 30 calendar days. All workers are employees of Signature Home Improvement, and all were courteous and professional. They cleaned up pretty well at the end of each day, and were consistently open to my ideas and suggestions, most of which were included in the original estimate. The workers were excellent craftsmen in their fields. The kitchen designer was extremely helpful from the beginning in generating ideas for design, to being on-site almost every day, to providing last minute touch-up work on the final day. The master tiler had 17 years of experience and was open in sharing his knowledge. The granite cutter was polite and skilled. All carpenters on site were quick but meticulous. The master painter was neat, punctual, and amazingly efficient. The electrician was open and available to last-minute ideas. The ladies in the office called in regularly and actually came on site to see progress. Jason showed flexibility when questions arose. I really maintained the feeling that Signature Home Improvement was dedicated to my satisfaction to the job.

They gutted our kitchen and took out a wall between our kitchen and dining room. They put in new tile flooring, countertops, backsplash, custom cabinets, and sink.

They started right before Thanksgiving and were finished by Christmas Eve (as promised). The workers were all Signature employees (no subcontracting). They were professional and did excellent work. The only complication we had was that they gave us a different cabinet door style from what we wanted. They apologized and gave us a small discount. We are definitely pleased with the final product.

Used Angie’s List to locate companies. Contacted 7, only 4 responded & actually visited our home to survey the job. Signature was the ONLY one to respond with an estimate. Signature does not rely on subcontractors to complete the work. All workers are Signature employees which made the job progress quickly & efficiently. No horror stories that can be common with this type of remodel. The entire staff is polite, very skilled and professional. HIRE THIS COMPANY!

We shared with Jason what we wanted to accomplish and our desire to stay within a $25,000 budget. He provided us with a quote a few days later that was within our budget. After signing on, the cabinet designer met with my husband and I to detail out the specific design. Signature did a good job providing us with a custom look while being mindful of our budget. The additional $5000 cost was due to our selection of a higher grade of granite and more expensive tile back splash than originally budgeted. Signature employees were always punctual and professional, and clearly made our satisfaction with the final product their highest priority. I would definitely recommend them. The Signature office did an excellent job of communicating with me on a regular basis to make sure I understood what the next steps were and what they needed me to do to help move the process forward quickly. The entire job was completed in approximately 3 weeks and they worked around my existing appliances so that I wouldn’t be without a kitchen for long.

We were very impressed with the work that was done in our home. Jason Flippo quoted 8 weeks and the job was completed in that time frame. All of the employees that worked on our job were professional and pleasant to work with. The demo was completed in one day including the removal of the satillo tile floor. The office staff always called and asked us if we had any concerns and let us know when and who would be coming the following day to work. The employees were punctual, hard working and cleaned up after each days work. All of the employees did a great job. We really appreciated the work Armanzo did to help us with our design and we trusted his advice and judgement. Bernie and Oscar did a beautiful job on the floor and the backsplash. We really appreciate the extra time and effort that Bernie put in on the tile work. He is an artist! Sean was great in helping to open things up everywhere possible during the framing. He did a beautiful job creating the two arches in the kitchen and helped work out electrical details. Thank you to everyone for a great job.

Hire Again: Yes Approximate Cost: $25,000.00
Home Build Year: 1992
Description Of Work:
Granite counters, refacing cabinets, custom cabinets, plumbing, electrical for undercabinet lights, customizing for wine refrigerator, new baseboards, crown molding, installation of cooktop, installation of sink/faucet, hardware, backsplash that was complicated with each piece having to be hand placed in order to get the small tiles aligned.
Member Comments:
They were very eager to start, prompt, courteous, professional. The entire project went more smoothly than I had anticipated. When we realized that the space set aside for the wine refrigerator wouldn’t allow for the door to open correctly, they customized it on site and switched the cabinet around to get it to fit correctly. It was our mistake that caused the issue and they resolved it immediately which was amazing! When the tiles I had selected proved to be very difficult to install, Bernie, the installer, worked diligently (for about 10 hours) laying each piece by hand…it was way more difficult than we had thought and it came out BEAUTIFULLY! Every day when they finished, they cleaned up the kitchen as best as possible. They took such caution of our hardwood floors and laid covering to not scratch them. When they asked us to tag anything and everything that may need to be touched up-there was nothing left to tag as they had already fixed it themselves!
I cannot recommend them enough. In fact, our friends are using them and we are using them for a bathroom remodel. Jason and his team will always be who we use for our remodel projects…and there are more to come! |

We were very impressed with how professional all of the SHI staff was during our remodel job, not to mention courteous and friendly. It appears, each staff member directly employed by SHI may be a graduate of a “Knock Your Socks Off Customer Service” Course! It was very refreshing to have a contractor and/or his staff return our phone calls and e-mails in less than 24 hours, and in some cases, within minutes.
With a remodel job this extensive we elected to move out of our home to allow the contractor 24/7 access to our home, and avoid living in chaos. SHI was very accommodating and even paid to have all of our belongings moved out of the house into a POD in our driveway and any overflow into the garage. (They also paid to have us move back in once the job was finished)! Since we were not living on sight, Jason agreed to weekly meetings to review deliverables and any outstanding issues or concerns we had on how the project was progressing. These scheduled meetings worked well for us and helped to keep us to track progress and ensure we were receiving everything we had agreed to in our contract. The first step in working with SHI was choosing our granite for our kitchen countertop. Next, we signed our contract and an appointment was scheduled with Armonzo, their talented design staff, to put our kitchen and bathroom vanity cabinet ideas on paper and incorporate measurements to accommodate my wife’s weak back. After putting our design on paper, we were asked to make an appointment with Christine at ProSource to choose our tile and flooring; with her assistance the colors and design we choose actually made the designs on paper “pop!”. After the popcorn was scrapped off the ceiling, the master bedroom ceiling need extra work, so SHI paid to have the ceiling have new sheetrock and installation put in. The paint job and crown molding had some slight issues with bare spots, and when brought to Signature’s attention, they quickly reponsed to our requests and sent staff to repaint or recaulk to ensure our complete satisfaction. When the cabinets and vanity arrived and installed they looked exactly like the drawings but the quality far exceed what we could have ever imagined on paper. SHI even added free of cost to us detailed enhancements of rope modeling to the kitchen crown modeling, and a decorative onlay and furniture feet in the Master vanity. One ktichen cabinet utilizing dead space in a corner didn’t allow for storage of a large antique punch bowl as originally planned. Within hours of having realizing this mishap, Armonzo quickly went to the office to work on finding a solution that greatly exceeded our expectations. We are really enjoying our bathroom too with their unique tile installed by Bernie so much that we think we are in a Kohler commercial on vacation visiting a resort hotel. Thanks again, Jason, Mimi, Patricia, Ruth, Armonzo, Bernie, Douglas, Robert, Wes, and Amador for everthing and all you did to work with us! |

Description Of Work:
They gutted and redesigned my kitchen, replaced all the flooring in my house, removed the popcorn ceiling in every room, and painted the entire house. Tile and hardwood floors were put in.
Member Comments:
In terms of the kitchen redo all went well. They are known for cleaning up every day and that happened except for the painting portion of my job. The popcorn ceilings were removed and the painter forced me to move out of my house for a week. The painter was however a sub contractor; he no longer works for the company. So Jason resolve the issue and it should not happen again.

Hire Again: Yes Approximate Cost: $36,000.00
Home Build Year: 1980
Description Of Work:
This job was a complete gut and redo of my kitchen as well as changes to a small powder room adjacent to the laundry room. The job included removing a drop ceiling, new custom cabinets, new flooring, lights and backsplash tiling. Some minor plumbing and electrical was included in this job.
Member Comments:
The job start date was provided well in advance. prior to demolition all the critcial decisions about cabinets, appliance placement and lighting fixtures were resolved. This allowed for speedy progess with the actual job. Demoliton was completed in one day. What really impressed was the attention to detail when the plumbing, wiring and sheet rocking was done. The ceiling and walls were prepped well for painting later. The workers were very conscientious and easy to communicate with. The custom cabinets were well made and exactly as expected. The tiling was well done, the floor laid in a brick pattern. The backsplash had many different elements but came really beautifully. We used a granite called Red Dragon (their suggestion) and i have received many compliments on it. We originally planned to use silestone and this has been so much better. We used black granite for the lavatory sink. As with all projects there were occasional misunderstandings or breakdowns but the owner and his staff do a marvelous job of working with you to resolve them. I travel in my job so I gave them free access to the house. Have not had any reason to regret the decision. Everyone is very honest and trustworthy. The entire job was completed in just over a month. The staff knew this remodel was based on a plan developed by my wife before she passed away. They stayed true to that vision yet made suggestions that kept costs under control. I really am very pleased with Signature Home Improvement and do recommend them for projects.

REVIEWS FROM CITYSEARCH
Spectacular results

We wanted to find an economical way of redoing our kitchen cabinets. After failing at our manual efforts and searching various solutions, SHI’s proposal sounded best to not only fit our budget, but beautify our kitchen as desired. The results were incredible! We couldn’t be more pleased with the way the kitchen came out. They even had to do little repairs on some drawers as a result of age/damage to ensure they deliver the results we wanted. Definitely recommended.
- Pros: Color matching, install time, quality of work
Work performance above standards
by stublar at Citysearch 12/10/09
Signature Homes demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the technical phases of home improvement. The staff provided us with up-to-date status of work being performed. They updated our kitchen in Feb 09 and their excellent managerial ability inspired us to have them design and install custom china cabinetry with 3 halogen interior style lights, crown molding, glass shelves and glass doors in the dining room. Upper and lower cabinets had angled shelving on each end .The base cabinet had a granite top with mirror back splash and 2 electrical outlets. We were pleased that no subcontractors were used. They went above and beyond other contractors that we talked with. The performance of the entire staff is marked by steadfast dedication and devotion to their customers.
- Pros: outstanding staff
