Granite is a natural product and contains concentrations of crystals, pits, veins and fissures (small hairline cracks) that are likely to be present in solutions of the slab(s) used to produce your counter tops. The beauty of Granite comes from it’s natural randomness of color and pattern. Therefore, samples are representations only. The actual color pattern of your granite tops will vary from a sample.

Granite is a product of nature so there will be natural variations in grain, pattern, density and color that will vary because of the material characteristics; these variations are not considered defects. The effect of nature’s original beauty on the final slab is considered to be the distinctive characteristics so highly sought after.

Granite applications will contain seams! These seams will be seen and felt… no two installations will ever be the same. Placement of seams cannot be guaranteed and will be based on the size of the slabs allotted for the project. When installing new counter tops shims may be used to level tops especially for cabinets that are out of level. SHI will do it’s best to work with customers existing cabinetry. Caulking or trim underneath tops is to be done by others if needed.

As noted on the contract SHI cannot be responsible for things such as cabinets lacking stain beneath the edge of old counter tops and trim, shelf supports and appliance garages, etc. that no longer fit due to new countertops. SHI can also not be held responsible for Sheetrock work, caulking and/or painting in areas where old tops were removed. SHI will do it’s best to minimize damage to areas surrounding countertops during demolition.
